A Community of Faith
The Lutheran Church of the Resurrection is part of the
Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. It is one of the more modest
sized congregations in the area. Worship is at the center of the
congregation’s life. Our worship is liturgical (the work of the
people) and includes the use of excellent music, both choral and
instrumental. The Eucharist (Holy Communion) is celebrated weekly and
there is strong lay participation in leadership of the liturgy.
The people of this congregation are committed to living
into the covenant of their baptism. To this end, much attention is
given to an exploration of the Christian faith tradition and its
implications for the world. Christian education is provided for
children and adults. While our theological lens is grounded in the
biblical witness and Lutheran confessions, we are committed to explore
all issues of life and faith. Engaging in theological, moral and
ethical discourse is a regular part of our congregational agenda.
The Lutheran Church of the Resurrection is in a time of
transition. Pastor Robert Hausman faithfully served this congregation
for twenty-five years and has now retired. I am serving as the interim pastor, charged with the
responsibility of helping the congregation move into the next chapter
of its life. This interim period is expected to be approximately a
year in length. A period of transition is not intended to be simply a
time of waiting. The expectation is that the congregation’s life and
mission will continue to be strengthened.
Should you wish to learn about this congregation or
receive pastoral care, contact at the church office. Please remember
that you are welcome to participate in the life of this community of
faith.
